Climax?

There are many points in this novel where someone could think that it is a climax, there is the part where Lennie kills Curley's Wife or when George shoots Lennie.  Both of these are plausable suggestions however I would have to go along with with when Lennie kills Curley's Wife, because I considered George shooting Lennie as a falling action/resolution.  So what this post is asking is what do YOU think is the climax and why?

How it all began. . .

Of Mice and Men is a classic, yet controversial novel for young adults. It all begins during a scene where we meet the two main characters, George, a crafty parent-like figure, and Lennie, the younger sibling type who seems to be rather "slow." This scene shows readers their relationship, and the way George has to look after Lennie. In these first few chapters, we find out that the two of them are going to get a job at a ranch and eventually own an acre of land with their own shack on it, they finally get to the ranch and meet their future "co-workers."
